A vacuum incandescent indicator is called an electro-vacuum
device with radiation elements located inside it in the form
of incandescent filaments. The incandescent indicator structurally
consists of a cylindrical or rectangular glass cylinder,
inside of which
several independently are suspended on supports on an insulated base
controlled
incandescent filaments. Twisted filament filaments with a spiral thickness of about 60
microns are made
of a special tungsten alloy. They are in such a thermal
mode of operation,
which ensures the absence of deformation for a long time.
The mutual
arrangement of the filament makes it possible to display
various signs, letters or numbers in the indicator cylinder. The segments
of the tungsten
threads are made straight and fixed on the support pins. One output from
all the filaments is made common, and the other is used for
switching. Of all low-voltage devices for displaying information
, vacuum
incandescent indicators have the highest brightness, which allows
them to be operated
in conditions of any external illumination, up to direct
sunlight.
The seven-segment alphanumeric
incandescent indicators of the types IV-9, IV-13, IV-19, and IV-20, which are produced, allow using
control schemes to highlight, in addition to Arabic numerals from 0 to 9, some more letters of the Russian
alphabet: A, B, G, E, 3, N, O, P, P, S, Y, H and the decimal point. Iconic indicators
of types IV-10 and IV-14 have four controlled segments, which allows you to highlight
the signs ” + “, “—”, as well as the number 1. Indicators of types IV-9 and IV-10 (similarly
IV-13 and IV-14) have the same dimensions of their cylinders, which allows, using
them in pairs, to display information that requires the location
of the signs ” +” or “—” before the numerical value. Ten-segment indicators of types IV-19 and IV-20 provide
the ability to highlight the largest alphabet of displayed characters, including
some letters of the Latin alphabet.
