DDS-30

Spectral lamp.

The deuterium spectral arc lamp DDS-30 is used as
a source of continuous ultraviolet radiation in the wavelength
range of 186-360 nm in various spectral devices and spectrophonometric
devices for industrial and technical purposes: spectrophotometers
SF-46, SF-56 and SF-256, monochromators, photoelectric colorimeter KFK-2
(ZOMZ), special illuminators and devices for checking the listed
equipment. The DDS 30 lamp is a cylindrical bulb with
the side window is made of optical quartz and has an octal base. The radiation source of the DDS-30 lamp is an arc discharge
of a mixture of deuterium and neon pumped into a narrow gap. When working with
the DDS/30 lamp turned on, protective glasses should be worn to protect
the eyes from ultraviolet radiation. It is forbidden to remove the hot lamp
from the illuminator. When changing the lamp, the latter should be taken by hand only
by the base. Before ignition, it is recommended to wipe the lamp window with cotton wool,
moistened with alcohol, to clean the window surface from contamination.
