Depressurized. Pressure gauge thermocouple converter.

Due to its high reliability, PMT-2 is the most common thermocouple
sensor in Russia. The PMT-2 lamp is attached to the vacuum volume either by
means of a fungal (compression) connection, or by means
of a glass-metal junction. The PMT-2 lamp can be used with a wide range of old domestic vacuum meters: VT-2, VT-3, VIT-1, VIT-2, VIT-3. At the same time, its use is supported by new developments, for example, the Meradat-VIT19IT1 Vacuum Meter.

Attention to the consumer!
The converter contains a platinum wire with a diameter of 0.1 mm and a mass of 0.01062g.
Converters that have completed their service life should be handed over for the withdrawal of precious metals in accordance with the instruction of the Ministry of Finance of the USSR dated October 28, 1961 “On the procedure for obtaining precious metals and diamonds, as well as spending, accounting and storing them at enterprises, institutions and organizations.”

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR PMT-2

1.Before connecting the converter to the vacuum system, without opening it,
  include the vacuum meter in the measuring circuit and determine the operating value
  the incandescent current of the heater, at which the EMF of the thermocouple is 10 mV.
  This value is necessary for operation in the range of 13.3-0.133 Pa
2.Cut off the end of the tube containing the gas absorber, install
  the converter is vertical, necessarily with the base up, and at current
  600mA heater to determine the operating value of the thermocouple EMF,
  required for operation in the range of 666.6-13.3 Pa
3.Connect the transducer vacuum-tight with the object being examined.
4.When measuring in the range of 666.6-13.3 Pa, it is necessary to set the operating
  the value of the EMF of the thermocouple (see paragraph 2), measure the corresponding value
  the current of the heater and the calibration curve to determine the pressure.
5.When measuring in the range of 13.3-0.133 Pa, it is necessary to set the operating
  the value of the heater’s incandescent current, measure the corresponding
  the value of the EMF of the thermocouple and the calibration curve to determine the pressure.
6.During long-term operation of the converter, especially in the conditions of its
  contamination (oil vapor, etc.), adjustments must be made
  the operating current of the heater. To do this, it is necessary to pump out the converter
  to a pressure below 0.013 Pa and determine the incandescent current corresponding to the EMF.
