ATB230324AS02 Finned Tube Heat Exchanger Teaching Equipment Heat Transfer Lab Equipment
A SELF CONTAINED BENCH TOP UNIT FOR DEMONSTRATION OF A HEAT EXCHANGER. THE UNIT SHALL HAVE
- A) FINNED HEAT EXCHANGER (WATER TO AIR) WITH MINIMUM OF 15 TUBES.
- B) SHALL COMPRISE OF HOT WATER SYSTEM AND A COOLING AIR DUCT
C)HOT WATER SYSTEM: TANK WITH A PID CONTROLLED ELECTRIC HEATER, PUMP, TANK LEVEL INDICATOR,ELECTRICALLY OPERATED VAVE TO THE TANK INLET FOR FILLING OF WATER,A NEEDLE VALVE AND A FLOW METER TO CONTROL AND MEASURE THE FLOW RATE.
THE TANK NEEDS TO HAVE SAFETY PROTECTIONS AGAINST LOW/HIGH WATER LEVELS AND OVERTEMPERATURE.
D)COOLING AIR DUCT: THE AIR INLET SHALL BE A VERTICAL DUCT CONTAINING AN ORIFICE PLATE WHICH CONNECTS TO A DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE TRANSDUCER. THE AIR THEN PASSES THRO’ A FIXED SPEED CENTRIFUGAL FAN.
THE FAN OUTLET AIR FLOWS THRO’ THE HEAT EXCHANGER. AIR EXIT FROM THE DUCT IS CONTROLLED BY A MANUALLY OPERATED SLIDE VALVE. STUDENTS TO USE THE ORIFICE AND SLIDE VALVE TO CONTROL THE AIR FLOW RATE.
- E) HEAT EXCHANGERS TO HAVE TRANSPARENT SIDES. THE UNIT TO HAVE SELF SEALING QUICK CONNECTING FITTINGS WHICH USES NO TOOLS.
- F) THERMOCUPLES AT THE WATER INLET/OUTLETS AND AIR INLET/OUTLETS TO MEASURE FLUID STREAM TEMPERATURES.
- F) DIGITAL DISPLAY OF TEMPERATURES, WATER FLOW RATE AND ORIFICECE PRESSURE
